My name is Wen, I work as a backend engineer in Taipei,Taiwan.

Hi, I’m Wen Chang. I am a Backend Engineer currently based at iHerb, where I specialize in building and maintaining high-volume backend services. I am passionate about optimizing system performance and developer workflows.

I am a firm believer in the remote work lifestyle, which allows me to balance shipping code with my passion for exploration and the great outdoors. When I’m not optimizing databases, you can find me:

On the Slopes: I am a Certified Snowboard Instructor, a role that has taught me how to break down complex movements into simple, actionable steps—much like debugging a legacy system.

Traveling & Outdoors: Exploring new landscapes and cultures. I find genuine joy in connecting with individuals from different cultures and backgrounds, and those conversations have shaped how I think.

On the Run: I’ve completed several Half/Full Marathons. Running has taught me more than I expected. Every step counts — steady, deliberate, one foot in front of the other. That same philosophy carries into work and life: trust the process, keep moving, and the finish line will come.

Backend Engineer with 5+ years of experience building high-throughput systems in fintech and e-commerce. I’ve delivered a 98% API latency reduction on a system handling millions of daily requests, and contributed to a platform that achieved 5x user registration growth within six months.

I go to a lot of music festivals, and I’ve always found the experience of planning a lineup — and coordinating with friends — unnecessarily painful. So I built this. A white-label festival app for iOS and Android with a multi-stage timetable, friend sharing via QR code, and performance reminders. First deployed for Megaport 2026 in Taiwan.
